6 Restaurants In The Shire That Give Euro Summer Vibes

No flight fare? No worries.

Bobby's, Cronulla

Bobby's, Cronulla

If your Instagram feed looks anything like ours, it’s probably a sign that you’re craving a Euro holiday. A story of aperitivo hour in a tiny French town here, a Reel of sun-kissed beach locations across Greece there, and a big bowl of Italian-made pasta thrown in for good measure.

If you don’t have flights booked, it’s practically torturous. But thankfully, there is a way to feel like you’re in Europe without forking out thousands or spending 24+ hours on a plane. In fact, you don’t have to go anywhere at all. Here are 6 restaurants in the Sutherland Shire that are serving serious Euro summer vibes.

Bobby’s, Cronulla

Bobby’s

Bobby’s starts off strong with its shore-front location and elegant, rattan-filled interiors with hints of burnt orange and navy blue - and the experience only gets better from there. A salty sea breeze blows in through the bi-fold windows, keeping you cool while you peruse a seafood-diven menu that features share-style dishes like Kingfish Ceviche, Grilled Octopus and Whole Grilled Spatchcock. Don’t forget to add on a Sicilian Margarita for good measure.

Hurricanes

Just like the coastal restaurants of Amalfi or Santorini, Hurricanes newly-established Cronulla joint features grotto-like style, sculptural forms and chalky curves. Paired with a delicious palette of olive, nutmeg and paprika, it’s a Euro-inspired haven, perfect for a long lunch or relaxed date night. The menu spotlights its seaside location, starring a selection of Raw Delicacies, Grilled and Seared Crustaceans, and Chilli Prawn Pasta. Of course, if red meat is more your calling, you can still soak in the Euro feels while digging into some of the finest cuts around.

Cony's, Cronulla

Cony’s

Celebrate the laid-back nature and high vibes of Euro-culture with an alfresco-style table at Cronulla venue, Cony’s. Encompassing all we love about Apertivo hour in the streets of Italy, people watch, order yourself a spritz and dive into tapas-style share plates (think Marinated Olives, Oysters, Corn Ribs, Empanadas and, the best Guac you’ll ever try). The perfect place to settle in coming into summer.

Jack Gray, Grays Point

Jack Gray

Cemented walls, textural tiles, sun-dappled interiors and curves at every turn earn cafe-come-restaurant Jack Gray a top spot on our list. The menu spans far and wide to suit every taste, from organic Acai Bowls and Crispy Prawn Poke, with always a few plates of pasta to choose from. It’s one of the Shire’s most Instagrammable venues for sure, and we don’t say that lightly! You might even trick your friends into thinking you’re near the Mediterranean sea.

Pinos, Cronulla

Pino’s

It’s brand new to town, but Pino’s has already cemented itself as a well-loved venue for Sydneysiders who frequent its Alexandria location. We’re calling it early, but we think it’s set to do the same here with a seaside-inspired rendition of Italian classics and collection of both homegrown and international wines. Designed to capture the essence of Puglia, the venue features handmade terracotta tiles imported from Italy that perfectly complement a palette of olive greens. It also gets bonus points for its vine-covered exterior, which looks plucked straight from a cobblestoned European street.

The Pines, Cronulla

The Pines

With a view that transports you straight to a Mediterranean seaside escape and breezy, light-filled interiors, it's easy to imagine your on the other side of the world. The Pines menu features dishes like Freshly Shucked Oysters, Blue Eyed Cod and succulent Flank Steak from Gippsland, VIC. Pair your meal with a cocktail for the ultimate summer experience.
