Picture your guests gathering in a big, open, coastal-inspired space under cathedral-like ceilings. While they chat, they can wander a boardwalk that wraps a gorgeous timber-clad building and overlooks Kurnell on one side and the iconic Tom Ugly’s bridge over Sans Soucis on the other. They’re suspended, floating above the water while they watch the sunset, drink in hand.

This is the striking reality of the recently reopened St George Sailing Club. The Club sits in its original location, upon the shores of the Georges River, but its new look marks a big step in a design-led direction.

“Our goal was to create a modern facility that pays homage to the historical elements and rustic charm associated with classic boatsheds,” says Matt Hazell, the Secretary Manager. “Features such as exposed timber beams, weathered wood finishes, and open, airy spaces were carefully selected to mimic the look and feel of traditional boatsheds, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.”

Unique yet instantly recognisable to any long-time local or sailing enthusiast, St George Sailing Club is an idyllic setting for any large-scale event. From weddings and milestone birthdays to corporate meetings and product launches, the venue can accommodate up to 250 guests or 165 seated. All the essential amenities are on hand too, including a projector, Wi-Fi, and a microphone.

When it comes to the cuisine, prepare to be impressed. Canapés or a share-style banquet are perfect for media events or engagements. For more formal affairs, opt for a traditional alternate-drop menu featuring Miso Cod and Beef Eye Fillet. With food this good, your guests will still be raving about it long after the soiree comes to an end.

Drinks are served up however you’d like, with options to stick with the classics (beer and red, white or sparkling wine), or splash out on a cocktail package, which spans Lychee Sangria, Espresso Martinis or their very-own take on a Shiraz Gin Spritz.
