What’s On In The Shire This March
A new season brings new activities
Summer Salt, Cronulla
Autumn has officially arrived, and contrary to popular opinion, it's one of our favourite seasons. The sweltering summer temps give way to cooler breezes, the leaves change colour, there’s fewer crowds, incredibly clear water, and evening events start earlier – all positives in our book.
Despite the seasonal transition, there's no shortage of things to do this March in the Shire. Discover all that’s happening below!
What’s On In The Shire This March
Make History at the World’s Biggest Paddle Out
Get ready for a record-breaking moment at South Cronulla Beach! Ray White Sutherland Shire is the Presenting Partner of the World’s Biggest Paddle Out, taking place on Saturday, March 15th from 6:30am. This epic event aims to smash the world record for the largest paddle out while raising funds for Find Ya Feet and One Wave, two incredible charities supporting mental health through surfing. Expect a high-energy day of community, fun, and good vibes. Whether you’re paddling out or cheering from the sand, this is one event you won’t want to miss. Register here to be part of history!
Shop Up A Storm At The New P.E Nation Store
In case you haven't heard, P.E Nation has officially opened its very first store in the Shire. Head to Westfield Miranda and look for the pale pink storefront — it’s packed with the latest in activewear, streetwear, and accessories, making it almost impossible to leave empty-handed. You’ll find them right next to Dissh.
Scout tip: Check out their ultra-comfy Foundation Range for some new autumn essentials.
Join Pino's For Their Renowned Wine Dinner and a Maybe Sammy Bar Takeover
Pino’s al Mare is lining up two standout events this month, bringing together fine wine and world-class cocktails.
First up is an exclusive six-course wine dinner on March 18th featuring winemaker Stefano Malchiodi of Tenuta Mazzolino from Italy’s Oltrepò Pavese. The menu includes standout dishes like Homemade Bread with Stracciatella, Venison Carpaccio, Tortellini Bolognese, and Braised Beef Cheek, all perfectly paired with Stefano's range of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Set in Pino’s intimate wine cellar — reserve your spot here.
Next up, the Maybe Sammy team takes over Pino’s Bar! Maybe Sammy is ranked among the World’s 50 Best Bars, and they’ll be serving up world-class cocktails to match. No bookings needed — just turn up on Sunday, March 23rd, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
Indulge Your Sweet Tooth At Sugar Reef
We’re so excited for the highly anticipated opening of Sugar Reef, the Shire’s newest hotspot for the sweet tooths among us. What we do know is that they’ll be serving up high-quality treats and desserts, and brewing fresh cups of coffee on Cronulla’s Gerrale Street. Their officially opening is Friday March 7th and they’re celebrating with live music from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Count us in.
Try Your Hand At A Chocolate Making Workshop
Looking for a fun, creative and delicious way to spend a few hours? The new Melt & Make by Essenze Chocolate is hosting a number of chocolate making workshops this March, where you’ll master the art of tempering, create your own chocolate bar and gooey caramel, dip strawberries in chocolate, and decorate truffles. Plus, you’ll take home all the chocolate you make, along with a custom Melt & Make apron!
Enjoy Aperitivo By The Beach With Summer Salt
Just because summer is over, doesn’t mean you have to say farewell to cocktails by the beach. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4:00pm until 6:00pm, join the Summer Salt crew for aperitivo hour, featuring $9 beer, $11 wine, a list of four classic cocktails for $16 a pop and an array of nibbles, including natural oysters, Cod Croquette, Cheeseburger Tartare and Churros.
Stroll Through Cronulla’s Easter Market
We can't believe it's time to talk about Easter already, but egg-citement builds when we know the Cambridge Easter Markets are coming to town. Easter time is synonymous with consuming our body weight in chocolate eggs, enjoying a long weekend, and perusing the Easter markets. Scheduled from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday, March 29th and Sunday the 30th, at Don Lucas Reserve, Cronulla, this two-day market showcases brilliant small retailers, an array of cuisines, local homewares, crafts, toys for the kiddies, and so much more!
Join The Family Co For International Women’s Day
One of our favourite days of the year has rolled around once again - International Women’s Day is set for Saturday 8th March, and The Family Co. are hosting a brunch to celebrate. Taking place on Friday 7th March, guests will be treated to an inspiring Q&A panel spotlighting women in business and health and leadership. There will be opportunities to network and connect, raffle prizes and interactive activities. Tickets are $70 each, with all proceeds supporting The Family Co.’s vital programs helping women, children and families in the community. Seats are limited, so be sure to secure your spot here.
Explore The Shire’s Dog Friendly Beaches And Parks
If there’s one thing all dog parents can agree on, it’s that dogs are basically children — just with fur, four legs, questionable manners, and even worse breath. And like any child, they need socialisation, exercise, and play. Luckily, the Shire is home to some of Sydney’s best dog parks and with autumn’s crisp, refreshing weather, there’s no better time to explore them. From coastline to bush, make the most of the season and check out our top 8 here.
