Cult Favourite Rileys Gym Has Landed In Cronulla

“Iconic gym meets an iconic beach,” reads the Rileys Gym website. With roots across the city’s western suburbs and a history dating back to 1981, beloved fitness icon Rileys Gym is finally bringing its unmatched fitness concept and tight-knit community to the shores of our very own Cronulla.
As Australia’s first-ever 24-hour gym, it’s no surprise that Rileys blazes the trail. Sprawled across two levels and a total of 650 square metres, the space delivers more than just treadmills and equipment. “There will be an amazing open space on the bottom, luxury amenities in the middle, and another whole level of workout equipment above. It's super deluxe,” says Co-Founder, Fady Ziade.
“It's interesting because the space used to be a bank. Because it's a heritage building, there were only so many things that we could actually change and adjust. There's some really cool, quirky, and interesting features, including the original bank vault, which has been transformed into a unique training area, adding an unexpected element to the gym experience.”
While the gym boasts the best features found at its Seven Hills, Marsden Park, and Wentworthville locations—24/7 access, boutique facilities, and expert trainers—its design is specifically tailored to Cronulla, reflecting the area’s coastal vibe while keeping the Rileys ethos at its core. Cronulla Sharks, the owners of the space, approved a 10-year lease, showcasing their belief in Rileys as a brand that aligns with their vision for a community-focused, elite fitness destination.
“Cronulla is one of Sydney's biggest fitness hubs. Health really is part of the culture and it drives the community,” says Fady.
“The design leans into bright whites, with plenty of natural light flooding the space and super high ceilings creating an open, airy feel. It features charming, boutique details, making the space feel elevated and unique. We’re excited to present something that truly stands out.”
Although, in the Shire, there are 24-hour access gyms, and gyms that have a close and thriving community, Rileys promises to bridge the gap between both - with a bunch of state-of-the-art equipment thrown in for good measure.
Rileys Gym offers 24-hour access and flexible membership options with a simple, transparent approach. From no lock-in plans to ongoing memberships, all with zero join fees, there’s something for everyone. Unlike commercial gyms, Rileys takes a straightforward, black-and-white approach. Members have the freedom to train on their terms — what they want, when they want. While the team hasn't officially opened shop, you can sign up to the waitlist while you await its anticipated mid-November opening, which Fady says is already “well into the hundreds”.
