To ensure you’re getting the most bang for your buck, we’ve done the hard yards and rounded up the Shire’s best happy hours! Hazel
Hazel in Gymea has entered the happy hour chat and is bringing a Euro-style charm with it. Running Wednesday to Friday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, Hazel’s happy hour features $12 Spritzes, $7 House Wines, and a line-up of small plates designed to share (or not, we’re not judging). Think Crispy Polenta Bites, Charcuterie, Whipped Ricotta, and more. The best part? It’s walk-ins only, which makes it the perfect spontaneous pitstop when you’re craving something nice without the fuss.
FIOR
Fior, the latest dining gem in Gymea, masterfully blends a fresh take on Italian cuisine with warm Aussie charm, offering expertly crafted cocktails, rustic dishes, and the chicest interiors. But that's not all—they also host an unmissable Aperitivo hour, featuring $2 Sydney Rock Oysters, $12 Fior Spritz, $8 Gin & Tonics, $8 House Bianco & House Rosso, $10 King Cobbler and $7 Pale Ale from Friday to Sunday, 4:00pm to 5:00pm
Summer Salt
A tipple with a view is always a good idea. Summer Salt’s Aperitivo Hour runs Friday to Sunday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, with $9 beers, $11 wines, and $16 cocktails to ease you into the evening. Pair your pick with snacks from $6 and sit back, and soak up the iconic Elouera Beach backdrop.
Roccos
Raise a glass to the weekend at the Shire’s hottest new bar, Roccos. Only known by those in the know, Aperitivo hour kicks off here every Friday and Saturday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with refreshing $12 Spritzes, $7 Morettis, and our favourite kind of bar snacks – we’re talking $2 Oysters and $5 Woodfired Bread. This isn’t just any Woodfired Bread – it’s airy, puffy, and seriously delicious. Think of it as the Shire’s take on the Totti’s special.
Scout tip: Stick around till late, because from 8:00pm, a DJ turns up the energy.
The Blind Bear
With its American-style whiskey saloon ambience, dim lighting and rustic charm, The Blind Bear is the perfect spot to wind down after a long day at the office. From 5:00pm to 7:00pm Wednesday to Sunday, score schooners for middy prices and every Friday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, sip $10 selected cocktails.
Cony’s
Say ‘Ole’ to Cony’s in Cronulla! This South American gem serves up mouth-watering tapas-style street food and some of the best margaritas in the Shire. With its flirty, yet moody fit out and signature red interiors, it’s equal parts delicious and insta-worthy!
Now for the good part - happy hour! Taco & Nachos Night at Cony’s runs every Thursday with $15 Classic Margaritas, $18 signature cocktails and $8 Tacos to keep all the senoritas happy! You can also score 20% off all food and signature cocktails from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Fridays.
Bangor Tavern
Renowned as the Shire's best dog-friendly beer garden, Bangor Tavern's happy hour runs Monday to Friday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm! That's right, five days a week, you can sip on $6.70 house beers with your favourite furry companion. On Saturday the fun doesn't end with $10 cocktails from 4:00pm till 6:00pm.
Papa Js
The art deco-inspired bar of your dreams, Papa Js boasts one of the most mouthwatering cocktail lists in The Shire. A whole page of their menu is dedicated purely to martinis. Head on over to Papa Js between 4:00pm and 6:00pm on Fridays for their Fresh AF offer, where you’ll score $12 cocktail specials and a DJ from 7:00pm.
The Botanical Highfield
Looking for the ultimate Sunday Session to end the weekend on a high? Highfield’s have you covered with $12 cocktails from 3:00pm to 6:00pm every Sunday. The good vibes don’t stop there! Get your $12 cocktail fix with their Monday to Saturday happy hour from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
Union Place Hotel
In a throwback to the ‘The Godfather’ heyday, Union Place is an American-Italian-inspired hotel that features a modern American sports bar and bistro with a sun-drenched, alfresco dining terrace.
From Wednesday to Saturday between 7:00pm and 9:00pm, enjoy $15 cocktails. Then, on Sundays from 11:30am to 5:00pm, grab a $13 margarita. Not stopping there, their third and final happy hour runs daily, serving up $5.50 schooners and $6.90 house wine.

This Mexican eatery and bar always promises a good time. El Rey's happy hour serves up $12 cocktails and margaritas, offering 16 delicious flavour combinations to choose from. Running Wednesday and Thursday from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, and Friday and Sunday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, we recommend kicking things off with their iconic Spicy Marg.
The Prince
With a traditional Australian sports bar and one of the largest beer gardens in the Sutherland Shire (with over 25 different beers on tap), The Prince certainly has a happy hour fit for royalty. Enjoy happy hour cocktails from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, Monday through Saturday, and from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Sundays. Cheers to the perfect way to unwind!
Northies
Northies is a Sutherland Shire institution with deals every day of the week! From 4:30pm to 6:30pm daily enjoy $6.50 house beer, wine and spirits in the Sports Bar. Positioned seaside, it doesn’t get much better than this.
