Fior Now Open: A New Dining Destination
Italian cool meets Aussie charm at this new dining destination
Fior, Gymea
One of The Shire's most eagerly awaited new restaurants, FIOR, has just opened its doors in the heart of Gymea. Created by the restaurateurs behind Surry Hills favourites Jane and Arthur, Tristan Rosier and Rebecca Fanning describe this character-filled restaurant as where "Italian cool meets Aussie charm."
The 120-seat restaurant boasts an open kitchen, a chic bar, and a wraparound terrace, designed in partnership with award-winning architects and interior designer, Luchretti Krelle.
Mafalde Corte and Pappardelle
“Since announcing FIOR, we have received tremendous support, and our bookings have been through the roof. The trust our community has placed in us drives us to ensure FIOR exceeds expectations. We want to create a dining destination that revolves around our guests' experience. We are thrilled to welcome everyone in," shared Rosier.
The menu, curated by Rosier and head chef Will Lawson, combines traditional Italian techniques with seasonal local produce. Guests can begin with over 18 antipasti dishes sourced from local producers and artisans, including PROSCIUTTO di Parma, Cctopus and Vanella Burrata.
Tiramisu
An Italian-made pasta extruder cranks out generous portions of fresh pasta, available in half or full servings. Picture this: Mafalde Corte with Pesto and Stracciatella, Spaghetti with Pippies and Bottarga, and Gnocchetti Sardi with Prawns and Chilli. As for the main courses, expect Angus Beef Steak, Grilled Prawns with Spicy Nduja, and delicious Barramundi, cooked in Brown Butter and Capers. Guests can also opt for an $85pp chef's selection set menu.
Dessert is equally delicious as it is interactive with a roaming gelato trolley. The Tiramisu is another Scout favourite.
Good news continues with Aperitivo hour from 4:00pm to 5:00pm: sip a $12 FIOR Spritz, a $7 Sunday Road Beer, or an $8 House Wine. Plus, snag $2 Sydney rock oysters for the perfect side.
FIOR is open for dinner seven nights a week and lunch Friday to Sunday, with bookings recommended but walk-ins also welcome!
