We all know the saying: bespoke jewellery is a girl’s best friend. And diamonds, obviously. It’s a sentiment shared by Zoë Richardson, a self-professed jewellery lover from way back and the woman at the forefront of the slow jewellery movement in Australia.
Working out of her new studio in the quiet suburb of Engadine, Zoë creates unique, sustainable pieces that embrace raw materials and all their imperfections. “I’m not about picture-perfect, polished looks,” her website reads, “...so my mission is simple: to create honest, raw, and authentic jewellery that lets every person celebrate their true self.”
From one-of-a-kind rings and permanent, welded bracelets, Zoë’s talents travel far, but what is perhaps most unique is her recycling program.

Whether it's old engagement rings holding memories you’d rather forget or a bashed-around necklace bought on a whim while travelling, a rummage through your jewellery box trash can produce a treasure in Zoë’s capable hands.
“Jewellery is personal and very sentimental, which is why we often hold on to it, in hope that maybe one day it will be worn again. My Jewellery Recycling Initiative is the perfect excuse to take your unworn collection and give it new life. Recreate a heirloom piece that allows you to share your story for generations to come."

Operating by appointment or a private group booking, it’s a way to seal the deal for those who aren’t afraid of commitment. Whether you’re after a made-to-order engagement ring with natural or lab grown diamonds, a welded bracelet or one of Zoë’s original, ready-made gemstone creations, you can visit on an appointment-only basis on Thursday, Friday or Sunday, or walk-in on Saturday from 9:00am until 2:00pm.
