So many of life’s experiences are better shared and when it comes to running, Melissa Campbell of Mutha Runner says the more the merrier.
Founded in 2019, Mutha Runner is a running group for women of all ages and abilities. Never run before? No problem. Training for a marathon? Perfect. This squad offers accountability and community in an environment devoid of judgment and expectation.
On her intention behind founding Mutha Runner, Melissa shares,
“Women often say it’s too hard, it’s not worth it or they can do it on their own. I am really trying to change the language around why it is worth it, why it is different to doing it on your own and why they should.”
Keen to reach as many women as possible, Melissa has just launched Shy July. a 4-week launching pad to kick-start your running journey.
“If you have been watching people from the sidelines, if you think you want to do it or if you used to run in a previous life, now is the time to start or start again. Commit for four weeks and really get back into it.”

Shy July is the ideal way to kickstart your running life and create new routines and habits. Based in Cronulla and open to all ages and abilities, there are up to four sessions a week to choose from, one of which is a running-specific strength session aimed at building a strong core, hips and glutes.
In the running sessions, you’ll learn how to pace yourself and receive guidance on technique whilst completing interval runs, hills and tempo runs.
