Participating in dietitian and nutritionist Nikki Lancaster’s cooking classes is much like experiencing the joy of a restaurant-quality meal with the satisfaction of creating it yourself — alongside friends, a few laughs, and a glass of wine. Her sessions are designed to be hands-on and fun, letting participants savour the fruits of their labour while picking up more than a few practical tricks along the way.

A Shire local, Nikki’s business, Grams of Health, is centred around her love of food. A self-confessed “avid food enthusiast”, Nikki says you’ll usually find her in the kitchen,  experimenting and creating with not only flavours, but the ways food fuels our bodies.

Nikki, founder of Grams of Health

“Food should be more than sustenance; it should be a source of joy and connection.”

Sharing this love of and appreciation for food through private, corporate, and social group cooking classes is Nikki’s big passion. She’s all about connecting people — to each other and to the nutritious ingredients she adores.

“Corporate cooking classes are all about team bonding and employee wellbeing,” she says. “And for our social classes, it's pretty much just getting people in a room, having a drink, learning some fun new recipes, and bringing their love of food back to life.”

Currently running once a month and expanding to weekly in 2025, Nikki offers a range of classes out of Caringbah’s Niche Space - or from your chosen space, if you’re hosting a private event or larger corporate gathering. Designed to suit every taste, her classes range from Asian Street Food and Mediterranean Tapas, to a Cheeseboard Masterclass and Brunch and Bubbles.

“We want to do a bit of pilot testing next year. Think Gluten-Free classes or Healthy Under 30 Minutes,” she reveals. Watch this space.

And the best part? You don’t need to bring a thing. Everything is supplied ingredient-wise, including wine.
