13 Dog-Friendly Venues In The Sutherland Shire

Why should your four-legged fur baby miss out on the fun?

Our Father, Burraneer

Pet parenting is a real thing, and any dog lover will be able to tell of the emotional turmoil that is closing the door on those puppy dog eyes to head out for breakfast or an afternoon beverage.

But thanks to the Shire’s many progressive restaurants, cafes and pubs, those days are over. Here are 13 dog-friendly venues in the Sutherland Shire, because why should your fur child miss out on all the fun?

13 Dog-Friendly Venues In The Sutherland Shire

Next Door, Cronulla

Next Door

It’s one of the few all-day venues that welcomes furry friends, but Next Door is a firm favourite amongst locals regardless. The best part - aside from their delightful food and drinks menu, of course - is that the dog-friendly seats also happen to be the best in the house, with views spanning Cronulla’s shoreline.

4/6 Kingsway, Cronulla

Brick Pit Espresso

Brick Pit Espresso

Both a roastery and a cafe, Brick Pit Espresso is a hotspot for coffee- and dog-lovers alike. Park up at one of their leafy and shaded outdoor tables while you tuck into your cuppa, freshly-made pastries and your pick(s) from their extensive menu.

42a Flora Street, Kirrawee

Bangor Tavern

Bangor Tavern

Recently refurbished, Bangor Tavern’s beer garden is, you guessed it, dog-friendly! It also has a fabulous play area to keep the kids entertained while you sit back with your friends and enjoy a freshly-poured schooner or house-made cocktail.

121 Yala Road, Bangor

The Laneway Cafe Caringbah

Laneway

This family-run cafe is all about great service and a relaxed atmosphere, but if there’s one thing Laneway is extra-famous for, it’s its tranquil outdoor courtyard. You may want to stay all day, and thanks to their extensive menu that spans from breakfast and coffee through to lunch and wine, you just about can.

487A Port Hacking Road, Caringbah

Salt Meats Cheese Cronulla

Salt Meats Cheese

Pizza, pasta and puppies - what could possibly be better? Located in the architectural and heritage-listed Banc building on Cronulla Street, this dreamy Italian restaurant will have you coming back time and time again.

66-70 Cronulla Street, Cronulla

Union Place

Union Place wasn’t always dog-friendly, but they’ve answered to demand, and now, fur babies are welcome to sit while you drink and dine in their sunny outdoor area. The team is always happy to bring your mate a bowl of fresh water - and will sometimes even offer it iced on hot days.

34 Railway Crescent, Jannali

HAM

HAM’s seating is largely outside, perfectly situated to take advantage of Cronulla’s sunshine and ideal for pet owners. Don’t go past their famous HAM Apple Granola, or opt for the Ancient Breakfast if you’re more savoury than sweet.

3/17 Gerrale Street, Cronulla

The Como Hotel

The Como Hotel

The beautiful, historic Como Hotel is the perfect place to spend an arvo with your best fluffy friend. The dog-friendly area consists of the mid-level balcony, which enjoys stunning views over the water.

35 Cremona Road, Como

Our Father Burraneer

Our Father

A super-cute fit out is just the beginning at Burraneer favourite Our Father. There’s undercover outdoor seating at the front, so you can enjoy your coffee and salmon bagel with your doggo at your side.

182 Burraneer Bay Road, Burraneer

KIN Burraneer

KIN

All-day breakfast meets wine and cocktails at this Burraneer Bay hotspot. Having spent many an afternoon here with our own pups, we highly recommend opting for the Brekkie Bun, or the much-coveted Tuna Sashimi if you’re there for lunch.

2/145-149 Woolooware Road, Burraneer

Flour

This very Instagrammable venue is warm, chic, sophisticated and - yes - dog-friendly. Once you’ve enjoyed your pick from Flour’s pastry-filled menu (and maybe dropped a few crumbs for your pup to enjoy), take a peek inside at the Doughroom, which gives you a glimpse into the workings of the talented chefs.

277 Willarong Road, Caringbah South

Piggies Miranda

Piggies

Being home to Westfield and tonnes of foot traffic, it can be tricky to scope out a dog-friendly venue in Miranda, but Piggies is it. Offering specialty coffee and a menu with an Asian-lean, this cute, peach-hued cafe is a must-visit.

1/522 Kingsway, Miranda

The Boatshed Woronora

The Boatshed Woronora

The only thing that makes a dog-friendly venue even better is a location like Boatshed’s. Settled right on the Woronora riverfront, it’s without a doubt one of the prettiest places to grab breakfast or lunch with your pet.

131 Prince Edward Park Road, Woronora
