A beautiful beachside setting, a seamless experience, food and drink worth talking about, and, above all, a memorable day - these are some of the things that sit pretty high on the list of anyone planning an event or wedding. But there’s a lot of work and often stress that comes with planning your biggest of big days or milestone parties, so hosting it at an iconic venue makes it all worthwhile.
Since 1953, Cronulla RSL has been delivering on good vibes, great cocktails and tasty eats - but did you know they also host some pretty spectacular weddings and events?

Having merged their event space Soldiers on the Esplanade with Cronulla Surf Club to form Esplanade Events, hosting an event to remember, whether it’s a birthday celebration, anniversary, hen’s night, corporate function or, indeed, a wedding, is what the team at Cronulla RSL do best - and the unmatched water views don’t hurt either. With a multitude of spaces across two sites, brides, grooms and party planners alike are well catered for, whether their guest list is an intimate 30 or a more extravagant 300.
Spaces are split between three venues all within steps of South Cronulla Beach: Cronulla RSL, Soldiers on the Esplanade and the Cronulla Surf Club.
For something small and intimate, we love the Deck & Terrace at the RSL or the Purcell Room at the Surf Club. For a larger sit-down affair, your options are almost endless. Select from an array of function rooms and dining configurations, think long trestle-style tables or larger, more traditional round ones.
And, on dining, rest assured; the food options are just as delicious as the views - from gourmet seafood platters to a more substantial rib eye of beef with kipfler potato, choose between relaxed canape-style mingles or a fully-fledged three-course meal. Needless to say, drinks will be flowing (if that’s your thing), with two wine-and-beer-filled packages to choose between. Cocktail add-ons optional!

For couples-to-be-wed, Cronulla RSL prides itself on affordable elegance. With the cost of weddings now well and truly surpassing any initial budget, this comes as a welcome relief. Their all-inclusive packages include an assigned event coordinator, who can organise the entire day, from ceremony through to reception, or just the reception alone. Because let’s face it, there’s no shortage of beautiful sites nearby on which to make your union legal! Regardless of your run-sheet, a wedding here will be totally bespoke and completely memorable.
Another big tick in our book is the 12:00am end time, which gives you the flexibility to kickstart the celebrations at your preferred time. Esplanade Events have also partnered with Quest Cronulla to provide discounted accommodation for all of their function bookings.
