16 Of Our Favourite Spots For Coffee In The Shire
Head here for your caffeine hit
We’re pretty sure it’s a globally accepted truth that the day doesn’t start until one has had their coffee. That sweet, sweet, toasty liquid gold that makes facing the day just a little more joyful - no matter what your plans are. But if you’re yet to establish yourself as a regular somewhere, it can be difficult to decipher where your caffeine journey should begin.
As a bunch of Shire locals through-and-through, we of course have our favourite hot spots for a morning brew - and we even went and crowd sourced, too! Now, we know it’s best not to get between a roast-lover and his or her favourite blend, so without further ado, here are 16 of the best places to get coffee in the Sutherland Shire.
Grind Espresso
Their Instagram bio reads ‘I’d rather be at Grind’ and, well, for many this is true. Brewing in Cronulla since 2002, Grind is fitted out with a retro vibe and pumps out coffee orders quick-sticks.

FLOUR
Backed by locals and influencers alike, FLOUR is renowned for crafting exceptionally good brews. Having honed their coffee-making skills serving Shire locals for years before launching FLOUR in 2023, you're always in capable hands.
Our Father
Our Father’s uber cool white-brick facade and cheeky play-on-words ‘LOVF’ mural give away what this brand is all about: good times, great food, and even better coffee. Settle in for your coffee or head around back to grab takeaway from their other half, MORE. While you’re there, treat yourself to a Brooklyn Boy Bagel (hailing from Marrickville) or a MORE Bakery morsel.

Next Door
Butting up against the shores of North Cronulla, the only thing to rival the coffee served at Next Door would be its stunning outlook. Slinging crowd-favourite, ST ALi, it’s safe to say you won’t have buyers regret if you choose to caffeinate here. You will also find ST ALi brew at Next Door’s sister venture, KIN Burraneer.

Blackwood Cronulla
Blackwoods is a Cronulla institution, known for its house blend and single-origin options, brewed to perfection for its loyal following. With crowds always gathering, a quick stroll past shows why this gem has earned its spot on our list.
HAM
You’d be forgiven if, at the mention of HAM, your mind went straight to pork, but a visit to this Cronulla-based cafe will soon change that. Pairing ONA beans with MILKLAB milks (for those who prefer a dairy-free alternative), the crew here seriously know what they’re doing.
Mr Paisleys
A community-minded cafe in the leafy streets of Caringbah, Mr Paisleys has created its very own blend with local roasters, Three Pence Coffee, to bring you their perfect cups of coffee. We recommend relaxing in the super cute garden courtyard out the back while you sip. If Three Pence is your pick, you’ll also find their original blend at Chapman Lane and Noah’s Cafe.
Jack Gray
Jack Gray does a lot of things right and one of them is good coffee. Serving Left Right and The Bird, this Gray’s Point neighbourhood gem will make your morning.
Steam Brothers
Steam Brothers are renowned for being serious about their coffee. Using their very own brand of beans to produce all your favourites, you won’t get anything like it anywhere else - and their breakfast menu is pretty incredible too.
Bianchini's Elouera
Having a coffee at Bianchini’s is an experience in its own right. With panoramic views over Cronulla’s shoreline, you’ll probably want to pair your cuppa with a good bite to eat and stay a little while. If you need a café closer to Cronulla Mall for your errands, Binachinis Cronulla is just nearby.
White Horse Coffee
A renowned Shire-based roaster, it comes as no surprise that you’ll find a cafe serving delicious White Horse Coffee in almost every suburb of the Shire. Here are a few of our favourites to try:
Eliette - a pretty cafe tucked away off Sutherland’s main drag.
Flora St Espresso - the heart of the whole operation, you can pick up a takeaway coffee and a pack of take-home beans while you’re there.
Brick Pit - located in Kirrawee, you can get your fix of White Horse Coffee here - plus some of the best brunch in the Shire.
Dose - tucked away in a side street off Jannali’s main drag, it’s hard to miss Dose’s powder-blue facade and happy customers.
Rushi
A fun Japanese-inspired cafe located inside Cronulla’s Chain Reaction Bike Shop, Rushi’s is loved throughout the Shire for its velvety brew. With a fresh new look, after undergoing renovations throughout winter, Rushis offers the perfect Scandinavian meets Japanese backdrop for your next coffee date.
